"About a month ago I started with real trading online. Before this, I was doing continous virtual trading. I was lucky enough to picked up a good stock on MER, and ABC. I bought 3 contracts on put options on MER when I read the negative news on financial times, within 2 days, made a net profits $ 2,550, How amazing it is! I placed a straddle on ABC according to the earnings release, made a short term profits as well. 30% profits on options straddles in 24 hours

On Thursday 1 February - a day after the practical course - I placed a long straddle on American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings whose earnings release was scheduled for 9am (US time) on 2 February. I bought 10 contracts, based on the implied volatility of the stock, and you could imagine how elated I was when I checked after the earnings release at about 9.30am (US time) and discovered I had made a profit of $920 on the call leg but a corresponding loss of $550 on the put leg.  I have sold the call but I am leaving the put leg there to decay.  I would not have been able to do this but for your exhaustive explanations last Wednesday at the course.

Using the option strategy that I learnt at the seminar, I placed a call option on yahoo before the announcement of the partnership with ebay. After the announcement the premium rose from 0.60 to 1.20 (I was able to double the trade amount of $6,000 to about $12, 000).
